The number of complaints to the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan in 2006 is 5.000 less than in 2005, Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Country told journalists, Trend reports.

According to him, that shows adequacy and stability of the decisions made. The most important issue in the judiciary sphere is an issue of its staff. This issue will be solved only when new judges are appointed. There are judges who have considered 50-60 cases per month. Many judges, consider the cases quickly. That leads to the inadequacy and stability of the decisions. More judges there are, more quality there will be., said Mr. Rzayev.

He also pointed out that the appraisal of the activity of the existing judges will be completed till the end of the year. If some of the judges do not justify themselves, their activity will be suspendedВ", Mr. Rzayev said.

He also said that in 2006, there were more than 60 judges punished in this or that degree.
