There have been no difficulties with appointing assistants to MPs. Some newspapers have published pieces of information concerning it, however there have been no grounds for it, Akif Nasirov, the Chief of the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Parliament informed journalists today. This issue is going on in accordance with the existing legislation. The MPs are occupied with determining their candidates. The corresponding rules have been determined, and the selection of candidates meets them said Mr. Nasirov. The rules on appointing assistants to MPs have been approved. According to these rules, the persons whose candidacy was put forward to the post of Assistant to MP, should have the permanent residency and live on the territory of that constituency where the MP was elected. The right candidate should not be a relative to the MP and should have higher education. Assistants to MP are to seat in the constituency where the MP was elected, but not in the Milli Majlis. Mr. Nasirov said that it is not an easy issue and process, and may last for several months.
