Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Agayeva / Tamerlan Garayev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to India and Sri Lanka, reported by telephone from Deli on 14 August that Sri Lanka is interested in Azerbaijan's oil. The issue of future co-operation will be the main topic of discussion during negotiation by the Sri Lanka delegation, which will visit Azerbaijan from 16 to 18 August.
The relationship between Azerbaijan and Sri-Lanka has been established recently and now we should try to establish such cooperation in that area where we can work together, ambassador said.
" Azerbaijan can provide assistance to Sri Lanka to improve its oil-producing industry and I believe that the Sri Lanka delegation will demonstrate such an interest during their visit to Baku," Garayev noted.
Sri Lanka began showing interest in Azerbaijan's oil after the appointment of their ambassador to this country.
The delegation will comprise of three ministers, G.L.Peiris, the minister for Development of Export and International Trade, Fowzie, the Oil and Oil Resources minister, and M.Vijeneradi, the Minister for Development of Enterprises and Investments. They will be holding various important meetings including the president of the Setae Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Rovnag Abdullayev, the Energy and Industry Minister, Natik Aliyev, the Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, the Minister for Economic Development, Heydar Babayev and Emil Majidov, Head of AZPROMO. The Azerbaijani President will also meet with the delegation.
