Cooperation Between Iran and IAEA Never be Transparent: Iranian Political Scientist

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / Different opinions are being voiced due to results of the latest meetings between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Despite information about positive results of bilateral cooperation, no results have been announced.

'Cooperation between Iran and IAEA has never been transparent," Mohsen Ebrahimi, the Iranian political scientist acting in the USA and editor-in-chief of the publication International, said.

The official five stages statement of Tehran on its nuclear program was placed on the IAEA website on 27 August.

The IAEA did not respond to this statement. Despite the French News Agency informing of positive results at the meeting between Iran and IAEA.

No serious and concrete agreement has been achieved between Iran and the IAEA, the International's editor-in-chief, said to Trend Agency on 29 August. " Tehran did not give concrete information about the program to the IAEA," the political scientist said.

Iran secretly continues its nuclear functioning, Ebrahimi said.

"IAEA's deputy chairman held three meetings with Iranian representatives. The Iranian press illustrated these meetings with only one report. IAEA's web site also published this information. The IAEA's position is not known yet. It is explained with the fact that the IAEA, Europe and USA cannot reach a general and concrete decision towards Iran. The IAEA is not an independent organization; it is link to Europe and the USA. In order to reach stability in Iraq the USA needs support from Iran. Therefore, the USA holds a soft policy with Iran regarding the nuclear program," the Iranian political scientist said.

If Iran stops disagreements with USA and takes a positive position, then USA will not interfere in the Iranian nuclear program. The problem is disagreements of Iran with USA.

The French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, called the Iranian nuclear program a world problem and stated that he was seriously preparing to prevent this happening.
