Baku Executive Administration not Sanction Rally on Ukraine Square

I.Alizadeh / The Baku Executive Administration did not sanction the rally to protect human rights scheduled for 8 December on the Ukraine square, a member of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and chief editor of the Gundalik Azerbaijan newspaper Shahvalad Chobanoglu said on 6 December to Trend agency.
"The Baku Executive Administration sanctioned rally on square Oil producing plant Bibi-Eybat However, we asked the Executive Administration to sanction the rally on the Ukraine square in the appeal submitted to the Baku Executive Administration. The Administration did not reveal reasons of refusal in the response letter," Chobanoglu said.
Under an official issue by the Baku Executive Administration the rallies are sanctioned to stage on the Ukraine square.
Presently, rally-organizers examine the allocated territory to stage the rally.
"The organizers do not want to postpone the rally. The issue will be considered after examination of the territory," he said.
According to Chobanoglu, the Executive Administration wants to hinder the rally.
The organizer of the rally is the Committee of Freedom of Speech.
