Recent Activities of Yeni Azerbaijan Newspaper does not Satisfy Me: Former Editor- in- Chief

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 February / corr. Trend I. Alizadeh/ The former editor-in-chief of Yeni Azerbaijan newspaper said that the activities of the paper have not been satisfactory over the last period. "The activities of the paper do not satisfy me much over the last period. It is connected with the reasons, which I can not disclose yet. There are reasons contingent on me and not contingent on me. I tried to do my best," Algish Hasanoglu, the former editor-in-chief of Yeni Azerbaijan paper, who was removed from his post, said on 28 February. Yeni Azerbaijan is the official paper of Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP).

The meeting of the Council of YAP, held on 28 Feb, analyzed the activities of Yeni Azerbaijan newspaper. The meeting unanimously decided that the activities of Algish Hasanoglu, the editor-in-chief of the paper, are not satisfactory. Therefore, he was removed from his post.

"I accept decision of the Council as normal. The paper was founded by YAP and therefore they have a right to change its editor-in-chief. I respect their decision," Hasanoglu said.

The former editor-in-chief of Yeni Azerbaijan paper, who is the member of the YAP political council, said that his removal from the office will not affect his political allegiance. "I support the policy of Ilham Aliyev," he said.

He said that he has not yet determined his future activities. "My health is of prior importance. If I am healthy, I can solve all the problems," he said.
