Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 May / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan did not approve the appeal by the Azerbaijani opposition Azadlig newspaper.
Elchin Sadigov, lawyer, stated to Trend that the Supreme Court remained in force the decision made by the Appeal Court.
In 2007, the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan made a court appeal against the Azadlig newspaper to the Yasamal District Court to protect dignity and honor.
Appeal Court decreased the size of the fine to AZN 10,000.
Sadigov said that the newspaper was not satisfied with the decision by the Supreme Court and the newspaper would appeal to the European Court for Human rights.
