Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 May /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva/ The correspondent of Azadlyg newspaper Agil Khalil, who incurred an attack several months ago, has been provided the Police Protection. Two policemen have been allocated to protect him, the Director of the newspaper, Azer Ahmed, reported to Trend .
On 7 May, Khalil sustained another attack in Metro. An effort was made to kidnap him.
Ahmed said that the Government has reacted to the challenges of community, international organizations and local human rights organizations and has now taken measures to protect Khalil. The Prosecutor General's office stated that the fact of attack on the journalist in metro has not been proved as yet.
In February, Agil Khalil was beaten up by unknown people. Several days ago, the Prosecutor General's office closed the case on this episode. During investigation, the witnesses did not confirm the fact of beating.
The statement of the Prosecutor General's office also says that the criminal case of Sergey Strekalin, who is accused of inflicting knife injure to the journalist, was also sent to the court.
