Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 August / corr. Trend R.Ergun / Teymur Rajabov, an Azerbaijani chess player, gained a victory at the Grand-Prix tournament of FIDE (the International Chess Federation) held in Sochi.
Rajabov met with Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov and won after 38 moves in the fifth day of the FIDE Grand Prix. The Azerbaijani Grand Master played with white figures.
Vugar Hashimov, another Azerbaijani chess player, who participated in the Grand Prix tournament, played a game in draw with Vang Yu from China.
Rajabov, Cheparinov and Russian Alexander Grishukla shared 1-3 places after the fifth round of the FIDE Grand Prix tournament.
Hashimov, who scored 2.5 points, ranks the fourth place.
