Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 September/ Trend , corr I.Alizade/ Woman can greatly contribute to the solution of global problems, Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan and good-will ambassador of UNESCO, said in her congratulatory letter addressed to the participants of international conference on Role of Women Politicians in New Security Environment.
"The current threats all over the world compels world to think deeply and once again and to worry about future. Women who are also key creators of human culture, protect what they have created by their motherly feelings," said the letter by the first lady of Azerbaijan.
Mehriban Aliyeva described get-together of women politicians from various regions throughout the world as a necessity originated from global problems.
"We believe that such conferences will be further held in many world countries and will contribute greatly in solution of global problems and establishment of peace, stability and sustainable development all over the world," the letter said.
"Though women politicians are involved in the establishment of peace and stability in the third millennium, we wish their potential were used in a proper way in a new security environment. Regardless race and nationality, the women all over the world have a common wish - eternal peace across the world. Conflicts in different regions of the world have displaced millions of people from their homes. Unfortunately, women and children comprise 80% of refugees and IDPs," the letter read.
Representatives from Turkey, Norway, Kazakhstan and Georgia are taking part in the international conference organized by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.
