Trial over Murder of Policeman Launched in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 October / corr Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / Trial over murder of a policeman launched in Baku.

The preparatory meeting on the case of Seymur Aliyev, accused of murdering an employee of police precinct 30 of Surakhani district police department, senior lieutenant Ramin Zamanov, took place in the Court of Serious Crimes on 22 October. The forensic examination is scheduled for 29 October. 

Seymur Aliyev began to shoot at policemen during operative measures, which were carried out by employees of police department of Surakhani district to arrest Aliyev, who was suspected of theft of spare parts for automobile, in 28 May settlement of Binagadi district on 29 May. Police employee Zamanov died in the scene of incident because of injuries.

A action was brought against Aliyev in accordance with Article 228 (illicit purchase,  transfer, sale, storage, transportation or bearing of fire-arms, fitting parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices), Article 120.1 (premeditated murder) and Article 315 (resistance or use of force in respect to state or government official) of the Criminal Code.
