Council on Government Assistance for NGOs under Azerbaijani President Controls Realization of Projects Financed by It

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 October /corr.   Trend А.Huseynbala / The Council on Government Assistance for NGOs under the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration continues controlling on the implementation of 190 projects being financed by it. "Up to now, the representatives of the Council held monitoring of 64 projects," Council's press service told Trend .

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Ailyev signed a decree on 16 April to appoint the members of Council on Government Assistance for NGOs.

Three members of the Council, which unites 11 members under the 'Charter on the Council on State to support NGOs at the Azerbaijani Presidential administration, as approved by the President on 13 Dec 2007, were appointed from the representatives of state departments together with eight members of NGOs.

Some 31 organizations already presented intermediate reports to the Council: "The representatives of Council's Secretariat attentively considered reports, and gave corresponding recommendations regarding the elimination of the existing shortages".

In order to increase the fruitfulness of monitoring, the Council made a decision involving Independent Practical Law Center and International Eurasia Press Fund in the process.
