Azerbaijan, Khachmaz, November 28/ Trend corr A. Gafarov/ One of the Azerbaijani pilgrims head for Hajj pilgrimage Feyzulla Agaverdi oglu Shikhverdiyev of Guba region of Azerbaijan has passed away.
Shikhverdiyev died of a heart attack while praying.
Gazi Akhund Haji Naib, representatives of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Board to the north of the country, confirmed the report about the death of the pilgrim. He said the pilgrim has been buried in Mecca.
About 6,000 people will make pilgrimage to Mecca from Azerbaijan in 2008. Part of the quota has not been fulfilled yet.
As many as 1,700 pilgrims headed for Mecca in 44 buses on November 22.
Prices for Hajj pilgrimage rose in 2008 as compared to 2007. Thus conveyance of pilgrims by plane costs AZN 3,500 and by bus - AZN 2,050.
