TREND news agency to attend OANA meeting in Tehran

TREND News Agency Director for International Cooperation Elchin Huseynov will participate in a regular meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) to be held in Tehran on Nov.15.

TREND News Agency Director for International Cooperation Elchin Huseynov will participate in a regular meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) to be organised by the Mehr news agency in Tehran on Nov.15.

Azertaj state news agency (as a member of the OANA) and news agency TREND (as an invited observer) will represent Azerbaijan at the event.

The 31st Executive Board Meeting (EBM) and the 25th Editorial-Technical Experts Group (ETEG) Meeting on "A quest for global media balancing" will finish at Tehran Enqelab Hotel on Nov. 17.

On the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) was formed in 1961 on the initiative of UNESCO. At present OANA brings together 41 news agencies from 33 countries. The 14th OANA General Assembly and 32nd EBM will take place in Istanbul in 2010.

Trend produces roughly 500 articles per day in 5 languages, including English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic.
