An Azerbaijani court launched a preparatory meeting on a Russian citizen accused of committing a felony.

Today, the Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court launched a preparatory meeting on the criminal case of Russian citizen Igor Bazhilevsky and Azerbaijani citizen Anar Nuriyev.

The judicial review is scheduled for Ja.14.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court has sentenced Nuriyev to 13-year and 6-month imprisonment and Bazhilevsky - to 15-year. Based on the protest appeals and complaints, the sentence was annulled and the case was sent to the First Instance Court for review.

The abovementioned persons are charged under the Article 120.2.4 (deliberate murder, committed with extreme cruelty or dangerous method) and 120.2.1 (deliberate murder, committed by a group of individuals, group of persons by prior conspiracy, an organized group or criminal association) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The investigation revealed that Alexander Golikov, whose body was discovered in the Sabunchi District on Dec. 18 in, was killed by Igor Bazhilevsky by striking with a blunt object on his head.

The investigation revealed that the day before Golikov's murder, Bazhilevsky inflicted fatal stab wounds on Rafiq Aliyev, the owner of the apartment, which rented Bazhilevsky in the Khatai District. Moreover, it was revealed that the crime was committed by two men.
