A prosecutor has demanded 57 years imprisonment for Iranian citizens accused of drug trafficking in Azerbaijan.
The prosecutor read the charges against Jamshidi Davud, Nazari Nuratabada Vahdat, Rahattalab Nahadani Mahin, Hajizade Layalestani Zahra at Baku Heinous Crimes Court.
The prosecutor demanded to sentence Jamshidi and Nazari to 15 years in prison, Rahattalab to 14 years and Hajizade to 13 years.
The court will announce its verdict April 15.
The accused are charged with Article 206.4 (Smuggling) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Case.
The individuals were arrested by the Azerbaijani State Border Service in Lankaran June 16, 2009. Marijuana and guns were found on their persons and seized.
