Azerbaijan, Baku, July 26 / Trend, T. Hajiyev /
Ecosphere is continuing its latest environmental awareness campaign in
Baku's Old City.
The "Municipal Solid Waste Collection and Separation" program is implemented in partnership with the
Tamiz Shahar Social and Ecological Center.
The program was approved under the Civic Action for Security and Environment Small Grants Program administered by the OSCE Office in Baku and financed by Statoil and the Austrian government, Ecosphere told Trend.
The center began informational meetings for children at the Museum of Miniature Books July 24. Young residents of the Old City will study environmental protection, recycling and waste management, domestic waste segregation, and natural resource conservation on weekends for the next two months.
The children will also participate in a contest to develop a new "green" environmental safety slogan for Old City residents.
