The Caucasian Muslims Office issued fatwa on Ramadan.
The Caucasian Muslims Office Gazi Council announced about the beginning of Ramadan August 11.
Depending on the visibility of the moon, Ramadan will be celebrated September 9-10.
The Caucasian Muslims Office together with Shemakha Astrophysical Observatory prepared a special schedule and booklet to help the Muslims keeping the fast.
Gazi, authorized representatives, akhunds and imams are instructed to comply with everything prescribed in the schedule.
According to the schedule, compiled by the Caucasian Muslims Office, the night of al-Qadr will fall from August 18 to 19, from 20 to 21, from 22 to 23, from 24 to 25 and from 26 to 27.
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh in his speech stressed the importance of committing good deeds by faithful people during Ramadan.
Pashazadeh also gave an example of martyr Azerbaijani Army ensign Mubariz Ibrahimov's heroism.
Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujev said that Azerbaijan will take all necessary measures to hold religious festivals and ceremonies.
He expressed the hope that no incidents will occur on ideological basis within these ceremonies.
Professor Vasim Mammadaliyev noted the importance of religious leaders' speech in all mosques which reveal the essence of Ramadan.
