The case on individuals accused of committing terror act in the Azerbaijani State Oil Academy was submitted to the Supreme Court.
The lawyers of Nadir Aliyev, Javidan Amirov and Najaf Suleymanov, who were sentenced to a life imprisonment, appealed on the sentence demanding to acquit them at today's process in the Baku Appeal Court.
The lawyers demanded to hold a judiciary investigation into the fact, but the court did not grant their appeal.
The lawyers submitted a cassation appeal on the Court's decision, thus it was decided to transfer the case to the Azerbaijani Supreme Court.
April 30, 2009 Farda Gadirov entered the State Oil Academy and opened fire. As a result, 12 people died, 13 - were injured. Gadirov was surrounded by the police and committed suicide. A criminal case against Farda Gadirov was closed due to his death.
The accused are charged under articles terrorism, preparation for premeditated murder, premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, an attempt to premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, smuggling by an organized group, illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, component parts, ammunition (except for smooth-bore hunting weapons and ammunition), explosives or explosive devices) and illegal manufacture, production, acquisition, storage, transport, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors of the Criminal Code. Gabulov Ariz is condemned under the articles of 206.3.2 and 228.2.1 of the Criminal Code.
The Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court sentenced Nadir Aliyev, Javidan Amirov and Najaf Suleymanov to a life imprisonment and Ariz Gabulov to 11-year imprisonment.
