One of Azerbaijani pilgrims died in Syria, Rahima Dadasheva spokesperson for the Caucasus Muslim Board, told Trend today.

According to the information, a 68-year-old resident of Shemakha region Nazarov Mafi died. Dadasheva said that Nazarov's state worsened when a bus with pilgrims, returning to Azerbaijan after the Hajj, was in Syria. Nazarov was taken to hospital. But doctors failed to save him.

According to the instructions of Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, the head of the Caucasus Muslim Borad, an agreement was reached with the airline "Türk Hava Yolları" to deliver the body of the late to his homeland. A coffin with the deceased will be delivered to Baku by plane this evening or tomorrow morning.

It was reported earlier that a 75-year-old resident of Jalilabad region Mammadova Dukha felt bad and died in Mecca October 16, as well as a pilgrim Khanbala Atakishiyev in the Syrian city of Sham.

Roughly 2,000 pilgrims from Azerbaijan have committed Hajj this year. Roughly 1,200 of them went there by bus, 800 - by plane.
