The Baku traffic police has started to intensify the fight against banned motor signals on roads in the capital.
Banned signals have a negative impact on the health of the capital's residents, causing nervous disorders, and violators will be severely punished, Baku State Traffic Police Department spokesman Vagif Asadov told Trend.

Asadov said drivers making illegal modifications to their cars in the capital cause serious harm to public health and safety.

The Baku State Traffic Police Department has launched urgent measures to combat these violations, he said.
Asadov stressed that protocols have been drawn up against 300 drivers in accordance with Article 155.7 of the Administrative Violations Code and sent to court over the last six months in 2010.

In January this year, 34 drivers were detained for using banned signals, Asadov said.
According to him, the signals were seized and the drivers were fined 60 manat.
Asadov urged drivers not to use banned signals.
