Ales Mukhin: Azerbaijan has proper intellectual youth development vector

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 16 / Trend, E. Tariverdiyeva /
Park Inn Hotel hosted an intellectual youth festival "Baku Pearl-2" .The National Council of the Azerbaijani Youth Organizations led by MP Fuad Muradov was one of the festival's organizers. The tournament's host was Ales Mukhin, team captain of the Moscow elite club "What? Where? When?".
Intellect, as any work requiring exceptional efforts, needs support, as, for example, sports, Mukhin believes.
"The Azerbaijani government and personally President Ilham Aliyev's support for projects such as "Baku Pearl", and intellectual youth development program plays a great role for youth in general. Intellectual people are pride of the nation. So I think that today Azerbaijan has absolutely proper development vector," Mukhin told Trend.
Muradov said the old generation of Azerbaijani players shined on the brain-ring in Moscow already in 1990s. Sparkling new generation of Azerbaijani players - Rovshan Asgerov, Gunel Babayeva, and Adnan Akhundov - came to replace them in 2000s, Mukhin said.
"The current tournament is unique in the fact that it is a tournament of exactly student teams, which is certainly attended by a lot of talented guys. I'm sure those teams that will prove themselves well today have a chance to attend the most prestigious international What? Where? When? Tournaments," he said.

According to the players attending this tournament, this is a very important event, which plays its role for Azerbaijan's future.

Today's tournament, which is attended by about two hundred young people, is the best example of our government's proper approach to the intellectual development of the nation, the tournament participant Aydin Piriyev believes.
"We are very pleased that we have been given a chance to show what we can do. We would like to further see such tournaments in Baku, implementation of many projects, which would involve young people," he said.
According to another participant of the tournament Rashad Aliyev, the team players are very grateful to the event organizers - the National Council of the Azerbaijani Youth Organizations, led by MP Fuad Muradov, for giving them a chance to prove themselves and play in such an important event as the "Baku Pearl".
"We wish them success in the future in all initiatives within the youth development program, on which they are working today," he said.

According to tournament participant Fidan Sadikhova, holding such events is very important for the republic's future, as intellectually advanced and educated people are Azerbaijan's future.

"Working on youth development program, our government lays the groundwork for the country's future, which will be built by educated and advanced people," she said.
