Ecology Ministry: River Kura water level expected to rise

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 21/Trend, M. Aliyev
The water level of River Kura upper stream is expected to start rising on April 24.

"Given that the water level of River Kura in the territory of Georgia and in Azerbaijan's Agstafa region has raised and that precipitation was intensive, the water level in the River's upper stream is expected to rise," the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Azerbaijan reported on Thursday.
As observed over the past two days, the water level in the Tbilisi area of River Kura rose by 108 centimeters (water discharge is 736 cubic meters per second) and in point Gyragkesemen of Azerbaijan's Agstafa region by 31 centimeters (water discharge is 655 cubic meters per second).
In addition, short-term floods are expected to occur in the country's mountainous rivers because of possible cloudbursts, the Ecology Ministry reported.
