Azerbaijan to expand list of medicines issued to patients entitled to benefits free of charge

A list of medicines issued by the state to patients entitled to benefits will be expanded, Chief of Medicines Quality Control Inspection of the Centre of Analytical Examination of Medicines under the Azerbaijani Health Ministry Parviz Azizbeyov told Trend.

A list of medicines issued by the state to patients entitled to benefits will be expanded, Chief of Medicines Quality Control Inspection of the Centre of Analytical Examination of Medicines under the Azerbaijani Health Ministry Parviz Azizbeyov told Trend.

Cancer patients, those suffering from diabetes and other diseases get medicines free of charge. he said.

Azizbeyov said 115 medicines are included in the list for citizens entitled to benefits.

"Now, specialists are working to expand the list. The specialists will determine on what types of diseases medicines should be included in this list. This list is formed based on the specialists' opinion," he said.

Azizbeyov said the Health Ministry allocated 24 pharmacies in Baku to issue medicines included in the list free of charge for patients entitled to benefits.
