There are a lot of Russian-made cars produced in Azerbaijan, models of which have become obsolete, deputy chairman of Parliament of Azerbaijan Bahar Muradova said during the discussion of amendments to the Law "On Road Traffic".
She said Zhiguli drivers commit a lot of road accidents.
Buying these cars on credit, parents give them to minor children, and they, having no professional driving skills, create danger on the roads, said the Deputy Chairman.
"Steps should be taken to limit the import to Azerbaijan of Russian-made cars of some brands," she said.
Import to Azerbaijan of cars without antilock brake system and airbags will be banned to Azerbaijan from May 1.
