Iranian Education Minister Hamid Reza Babai begins on Wednesday his visit to Azerbaijan, the Iranian embassy to Azerbaijan told Trend on Tuesday.
As part of the visit Babai is expected to hand over letter of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in connection with participation in the Non-Aligned Movement summit.
Babai is also expected during the visit to meet with the Azerbaijani President and hold discussions with other state officials.
Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was established in 1955 as a resistance to "domination" of world powers and manifestations of colonialism. The five main principles of the NAM are: mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other, the non-aggression against each other, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, life in peace.
From the post-Soviet countries members of the organization are Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Armenia are observers in the NAM.
