There are no epidemic diseases in the camps of Syrian refugees in Turkey, Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag said today, Anadolu agency reported.

There are no epidemic diseases in the camps of Syrian refugees in Turkey, Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag said today, Anadolu agency reported.

Earlier, some Turkish media outlets reported that epidemic disease had spread amongst the Syrian refugee camps.

According to the latest data, the number of Syrian refugees in Turkey amounted to 85,000 people.

The refugees are placed in camps in the border towns. The Turkish authorities have created eight such sites for them.

According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 20,000.

More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
