Wages in the tables indicate half of real wages, Chairman of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) Salim Muslimov said in a speech on the 2013 draft budget of the Fund.

"Only 31.7 per cent of the working population is employed on a contractual basis in Azerbaijan. All this shows that despite the creation of a large number of jobs in the economy, jobs disappear," the Chairman of the Foundation said.

The fund will determine standards and the minimum wage in accordance with the economic spheres, Muslimov said.
He also said that inflation is projected at 5.6 percent next year.

The retirement age of men in 2013 will be 63 years old, and women - 59 years, the chairman of the state fund said.

"There are no changes in the field of compulsory social insurance. It is 22 percent for employees and 3 percent for workers. It is projected that 1.239 million people will receive a pension and 50,000 people will leave the system. Next year, the allowance for survivors will be 128 manats," Muslimov said.

17 million manat will be allocated for spa treatments, exceeding this year's expenditures. Some 20 million manat will be allocated for funeral expenses next year.

In 2013, pensions will increase by 9.1 percent with an average of 163 manat. Pensions will exceed $200 for the first time, the chairman of the state fund said.
