The Turkish parliament has adopted a law restricting the sale of alcohol in the country, the Hürriyet newspaper reported on Friday.

Under the new law, the sale of alcohol will be banned from 22.00pm until 6am in Turkey. During the reporting period, the ban on alcohol sales will be valid on tourist sites in Turkey.

According to the newspaper, shops and enterprises that try to sell alcoholic beverages from 22.00 pm to 6 am will be fined anything from 5000 to 200,000 lira.

In addition, changes were made to the rules of advertising alcoholic beverages on television in commercials, TV programmes and movies.
