A joint research organization of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS) was proposed to be created for conducting joint researches, ANAS told Trend on Nov. 26.

The possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two organizations was discussed at the meeting of the ANAS president, Academician Akif Alizadeh with the first vice-president of RANS, Academician Lida Ivanitskaya and General Director of the RANS Institute for System Studies of Subsoil, Azizaga Shahverdiyev.

Ivanitskaya proposed to establish a scientific organization to conduct joint research with two academies. The need of uniting efforts for increasing the fruitfulness of research in various areas of science was also underscored. Ivanitskaya also proposed to establish an international medal named after the world-renowned scientist, member of ANAS, RANS, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy, Azad Mirzajanzade.

The reasonability of awarding this medal to scientists with significant achievements was also noted. Akif Alizadeh praised the proposal and said that he will provide the necessary support in this work. In conclusion, it was decided to hold again the meeting of the sides to implement these initiatives.
