BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 10

By Jala Gasimova - Trend:

According to the ‘Plan of Preventive and Diagnostic Measures against Epizootics in Azerbaijan for 2020’, vaccination of cattle and small ruminants against anthrax, nodular dermatitis, scabies, brucellosis, leptospirosis, of dogs against rabies and of birds against Newcastle disease continues in the country’s Jalilabad district, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.

During the special anti-COVID quarantine regime, the Agro Services Agency under the Agriculture Ministry continues vaccination and treatment of the highly dangerous diseases in the country, strictly following all recommendations and requirements of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.

“The relevant work is carried out by veterinarians of the Jalilabad district veterinary department and the 21st field veterinary point. Along with vaccination, disinfection, pest control and spraying against ectoparasites were carried out on the farm,” said the ministry.

“Experts carry out activities in compliance with the rules, using asepsis and antiseptics, special clothing, gloves and protective masks. Events are not held in groups, but with the participation of two people. Disinfection is carried out after vaccination. Moreover, veterinarians are educating farmers about the coronavirus pandemic,” the ministry added.

The Agro Services Agency informs animal owners that new animals brought to the farm must be quarantined, and in case of doubt about the animals kept on farms, owners should immediately contact the district (city) veterinary authorities.

According to the agency, the epizootic situation due to dangerous diseases in the country is stable.
