BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 25. The winner of the 6th Azerbaijan and Baku Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics among juniors in the individual program Dilara Gurbanova from the “Ojaq” Sport Club said the competitions were good physical and moral training for the upcoming international competition for her, Trend reports citing the athlete.

“Participation in the 6th Azerbaijan and Baku Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics for me can be called a control training before the World Age Group Competitions, which will be held in the Portuguese city of Guimarães in June,” Gurbanova noted. “I’m diligently preparing for these international competitions. We have two training sessions a day, and I hope to be able to perform the program well and show a good result. In Portugal, I’ll compete in three programs - individually, as well as within a trio and a group.”

The young athlete also said that it was a little difficult for her to physically recover after a break in training and competitions, which occurred due to quarantine measures in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
