PARIS, France, July 27. Judo competitions at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics started today, Trend reports.
According to the information, the first day of the competition will determine the winners in two weight categories.
Men will fight in the weight category of 60 kg, and women will fight at 48 kg. Two judokas of the Azerbaijani national team will also take to the tatami. The meetings started at 12:00 Baku time.
Balabey Agayev will start his performance at the Olympics in the 1/8 finals. He will meet the winner of the match Simon Zulu (Zambia) - Won Jin Kim (South Korea).
Leyla Aliyeva started her fight in the 1/16 finals. She was defeated in a duel with Khalimajon Kurbonova (Uzbekistan).
To note, Azerbaijan's judo team is represented by nine athletes at the Olympics.
