MONITORING OF MASS MEDIA ON POLITICAL BLOCKS COVERAGE HELD

В"Nadjaf Nadjafov Foundation” held, starting with May, monitoring of the mass media in regard to the election campaign coverage.

Making public of the July monitoring results was held on 22 August at the International Press Club, Trend reports.

Director of the Institute of Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus noted, the “Nadjaf Nadjavov Foundation” held monitoring of the media in regard to their work on the eve of the parliamentary elections, the forms of the electoral process coverage and the level of their impartiality and objectivity.

She also noted, the report will be prepared on the specific month each time. The monitoring is targeted at the studying of the role and impact of the media on the elections coverage, the degree of their impartiality and objectivity, assistance to the candidates in the pre-election campaign and etc.

The monitoring covered 5 radio, 12 TV channels and 11 daily newspapers.

Among the TV channels were ANS, Radio-Lider, Radio-Space, 106 FM and Radio-Antenn; 5 of the channels were in Baku, 7 вЂ" in the provinces.

Such channels as AzTV, Lider, Space did no broadcast topics against the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) and block and parties close to it.

Except for AzTV, a lot of channels broadcast innumerous plots against Azadlig, New Policy, Public Leaders alliances. Nothing was broadcast in their support, except for the 76-second material of the ANS channel.

Except for Radio-Antenn, no critical materials were broadcast against the New Azerbaijan Party. The materials were either in its support or neutral.

No information was spread against Azadlig, New Policy, Public Leaders blocks and other on the radio waves. As for he newspapers, the oppositional press did not publish negative materials against their camp. The same one can say about the pro-governmental press: it did not criticize the authorities.

The foundation will start monitoring of the political advertising in the media since September.
