ARMENIA NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN 5TH INTER’L GAMES OF CIS

“Armenia will not participate in the 5th International Games of the CIS to be held in Baku from 24 to 27 September,” Ragif Karimov, the chief of the Information Division of the Youth, Sport and Tourism Ministry, told Trend .

According to Karimov, Azerbaijan did not give security guarantee for the Armenian delegation and found participation of the sportsmen from the occupant country in the games held in Azerbaijan impossible.

“All CIS countries, except Armenia, will participate in the games,” Karimov said.

The attending of the competitions will be 400 sportsmen from 10 foreign countries and 800 from Azerbaijan.

The games will be held on 10 kinds of sport such as volleyball, athletics, mini-football, table tennis, and swimming. Men and women, as well as sports families will struggle for medals at the Olympics led by referee Aleksei Leonov, the cosmonaut, also Twofold Hero of the Soviet Union.
