“Report by U.S. State Department on adherence to freedom of religious in world is of biassed character,” Haji Sabir

The report by the U.S. State department on adherence to freedom of religious in the world, where Azerbaijan was indicated in the category of countries perusing biased policy in regard to untraditional religions is preconceived,” Haji Sabir, the chairman of the Caucasus Moslem Clerical Board, also head of the Baku Islam University, told Trend.

According to Sabir, the report was drawn by the people unaware of the real situation in Azerbaijan, but the U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan did not inform its government in time.

He said that the representatives of the many untraditional religious, whose activities were banned in most European countries, were currently functioning in Azerbaijan. Most of them did not registered and abused the tolerance existing in Azerbaijan, as well as tried to hinder normal process in the country.

It should be mention that the category of the countries perusing biased policy in regard to untraditional religious also included Russia, Belarus, Brunei, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.
