Niyamaddin Pashayev not to fight at Azeri championship

Twofold European Taekwondo champion Niyamaddin Pashayev will not be able to fight at the Azerbaijani championship starting at the Sport Palace on Friday.

The sportsman did not recover his health fully after knee injury, chief coach of the national team Alakbar Imamaliyev told Trend. Despite the injury, Pashayev left for Riga to participate in the continent championship. Therefore, he should recover his health fully, the specialist stressed.

According to Imamaliyev, other Azerbaijani taekwondo leaders will fight to prove their class at intense competition. In particular, participant of Olympic Games Rashad Ahmadov, finalist of the continental championship Elnur Amanov, bronze medalists Tavakkul Bayramov, Zahid Mamamdov and other sportsmen will take part in the competition.
