Since the beginning of the military actions of Israeli armed forces in Lebanon, the Baku Office of the UNO Supreme Refugee Commissariat has received no appeal from Lebanon refugees for providing them wit refugee status, Vugar Abdulsalimov, the representative of the Baku office of organization, told Trend.
According to Abdulsalimov, as a rule, during military conflicts and wars, the refugees try to find an asylum in neighboring countries. At the moment, the military actions of Israeli troops in Lebanon have newly stated and within such a short time, the refugees cannot reach Azerbaijan.
Besides, he pointed out that Azerbaijan is located far from Lebanon, and therefore, it is difficult for the refugees to come to Azerbaijan.
