Azeri Justice Ministry Intends to Conclude New Bilateral Agreements

The Head of the Human Rights and Public Relations Department of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Justice, Faig Gurbanov, said that Azerbaijan intends to conclude bilateral agreements with India, Pakistan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and China on the legal assistance, delivery of accused persons and their extradition

The Azerbaijani side has begun negotiations. Further agreements will be signed in the future. According to Gurbanov, the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry has a number of agreements with the European countries. The agreement base is expanded each year.

Agreement was signed with China on the extradition of the prisoners. In addition, the Ministry has prepared a project of the bilateral agreement on the delivery of the prisoners, and the Chinese side considers it.

Touching on the bilateral agreements with the European countries, he said that many items of the co-operation have already been specified in the European Convention on the delivery of the prisoners. Azerbaijan joined this Convention.
