Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr A.Ismayilova / The first forum of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Diasporas has commenced in Baku on 9 March. on 9 March.
Attending the forum is the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Turkish Prime Minister Rejeb Tayyip Erdogan and the President of Northern Cyprus, Ali Telet.
A total of 513 delegates from 48 countries world-wide are in attendance. Some 173 are from Azerbaijan, 101 from Diasporas of Turkey, 14 from Ahiska, 23 from Iraq and 5 from Cyprus. In addition, government officials from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Luxemburg, MPs from Estonia, Bulgaria. Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are also in attendance as well as delegates from Germany, the United States, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania and Norway.
The forum will adopt a unified strategy on the work of the Azerbaijan-Turkish diasporas; the Baku Declaration, an appeal to the Turkic-speaking nations, an appeal to the international community in connection with the Karabakh conflict, as well as issuing a statement concerning Armenia's claims with respect to events of 1915.
