Trend S.Agayeva / "The representatives of youths of Azerbaijan will have to sign a contract with the State before they leave for education abroad at the expanse of State," said the Education Minister of Azerbaijan, Misir Mardanov, on 11 May at the meeting on realization of the State Program on Education of Azerbaijan Youths Abroad (2007-2015), signed by the President of Azerbaijan on 16 April 2007.
According to the Minister, whose department had prepared the proposals, this is the main stipulation for the students who desire to continue their education in prestigious universities in foreign countries. This document will provide a guarantee to the State that upon completion of their education, the students will return to Azerbaijan, the Minister said. According to the Minister, by signing a contract the students take liability to return and work for three years in Azerbaijan after completing their overseas education. Otherwise, they will have to repay the State finances.
The Minister stated that generally the program envisages sending nearly 5,000 students to be educated abroad. The departments and specialists will be selected in compliance with the demand and importance for the State. Preference will be given to specialists such as management, modern areas in economy, information technology, etc., the Minister concluded.
