At Least one Russian Channel should be Transited to   Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Gulu Maharramli, the head of Author programs and Special Projects Department at the Azerbaijani state radio and television channel, thinks the expediency of broadcasting should include at least one Russian television channel in the territory of Azerbaijan.

In an interview with Trend Maharramli stated that the Russian television channels have always been a source of information for the Azerbaijani public, however there were definite milestones in their programs which caused disagreements within Azerbaijan.

Maharamli said that the Russian culture is still felt in Azerbaijan. Approximately, 20-25 years would be required to replace this strong felt environment. "The transition of Russian television channels in Azerbaijan should be regarded as a tragedy, yet accepted normally." he added.

An official of the Azerbaijan state television stressed that incase of open transmission into the territory of Russia, AzTV should take into consideration the specifics, time and geography of broadcasting. At present the cannel is developing several new projects and a network of new programs.
