Corn harvesting is continuing in Azerbaijan, the country's Ministry of Agriculture told Trend.
According to the ministry, 32,800 hectares of corn was sown in Azerbaijan in 2019.
“In 2019, the sown area increased by 3.5 percent compared to 2018. In 2020, 34,600 hectares of corn was sown in the country. Last year, the volume of corn production increased by 14.4 percent compared to 2018, amounting to 283,600 tons,” the ministry said.
“From January through August 2020, corn production amounted to 56,900 tons. The corn yield in 2019 amounted to 59.5 centners per hectare, which is 3.1 percent more compared to 2018,” said the ministry.
