BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 24
By Fidan Babayeva - Trend:
The participation of foreign companies in the restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as in the implementation of ‘smart’ projects, is inevitable, Coordinator of the Azerbaijan Innovation Agency, Elman Karimli, told Trend.
"We currently have an urgent need for foreign solutions and experience in the implementation of such projects," Karimli noted.
"We have enough experts, but there is no practice in implementing such projects. Therefore, we need international experience in the implementation of these projects. In the future, we will be able to implement similar projects in other territories of Azerbaijan without the participation of foreign companies," he said.
On the other hand, in his opinion, the implementation of such projects without the participation of professionals is not beneficial for Azerbaijan, the coordinator said.
Companies specialized in this type of activity, in addition to implementation, predict possible problems of the future and provide solutions that will prevent them, said Karimli.
Most of the companies that will be involved in the implementation of ‘smart’ projects are companies that are already present in the local market of Azerbaijan.
"The attraction of companies, both local and foreign, to the digitalization of projects will be carried out on the basis of a tender. Work is already underway in this direction," he said.
The joint activity of the Innovation Agency with Turkish technoparks, according to Karimli, is not aimed at direct cooperation in the implementation of ‘smart’ projects in Karabakh.
"The beginning of our cooperation is planned with the implementation of smaller projects. But these technoparks can be involved in the implementation of such large smart projects, which I mentioned above when the technical concept is ready. Today, there are only ideas on the concept of ‘Smart’ projects," he noted.
