Azerbaijan reduces exports to Ukraine

Exports from Azerbaijan to Belarus in value terms amounted to $210.3 million in the first 7 months of 2021, which is 22.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

Accordingly, the share of Ukraine in total Azerbaijani exports fell from 2.99 to 1.85 percent, said the report.

“At the same time, Azerbaijan increased the import of Ukrainian products from $245.9 million to $256.5 million (by 4.14 percent). The share of Ukraine in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 4.07 percent of the total volume against 4.17 percent in the same period of 2020,” the SCC said.

The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries in the specified period totaled over $466.9 million, decreasing by 11.1 percent on annual basis.

The balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, increased by 57.7 percent on annual basis - up to nearly 5.1 billion manat ($3 billion).

In total, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through July 2021 approached $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for nearly $11.4 billion (64.4 percent), imports - $6.3 billion (35.6 percent).
