BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 8

By Khagan Isayev – Trend:

Sea trials of Russia's 'Peter the Great' cruise ship have begun, governor of the Astrakhan region of Russia Igor Babushkin told Trend.

According to the information, the ship is undergoing sea trials near Astrakhan.

“We expect that this cruise liner will be able to make its first trip at least in the next summer-autumn season. Then we will be able to assess its capabilities,” Babushkin said.

“In addition, today we, together with Rosturizm (the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation) and with our Caspian partners, are discussing routes and places that may be of interest to both Russian tourists and tourists from the Caspian states. The flagship of the opening of cruise communication between Azerbaijan and Russia should be the "river-sea" class motor ship "Peter the Great”, he said.
