Azerbaijan Jewelers Association plans to hold a jewelry exhibition in the country for both local manufacturers and foreign brands, Toghrul Abbasguliyev, chairman of the association told Trend.
According to Abbasguliyev, on this topic, negotiations are underway, as well as details and format of the exhibition being discussed with SMBDA (Small and Medium Business Development Agency).
"We also cooperate with AZPROMO and want Azerbaijani brands and manufacturers to be represented at foreign exhibitions. At the first stage, we are interested in two exhibitions - Istanbul Jewelry Show and Junwex Moscow. Most likely, next year we’ll take part in the Istanbul Jewelry Show, and in subsequent years - in Junwex Moscow, then Dubai exhibition, Italian Vicenzaoro and OroArezzo exhibitions, as well as a Chinese exhibition,” he said.
“Potentially, the geography will expand, but we’ll start with two countries: Turkey and Moscow. The exhibition in Istanbul is traditionally held in March and October. Probably, we’ll participate in the October exhibition, because we won’t be ready by March. There are certain procedures that AZPROMO is working on in advance to obtain more extensive information,” the CEO explained.
“It’s necessary to warn the organizers and buy out a certain plot for lease, so we’ll be ready only by autumn," added Abbasguliyev.
"Association of Azerbaijan Jewelers" public union was created in February 2020, at the initiative and support of the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). Its main mission is to turn Azerbaijan into a regional jewelry center.
