BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. The railway tariff for the transportation of oil along the Kulsary-Aktau route in Kazakhstan, excluding the cost of attracting the fleet and other expenses, is $26.89 per ton, Trend reports via the Argus Media independent pricing agency.

According to the agency, some producers have shown interest in the supply of railway shipments of light oil through Aktau from the Makhambet station located in Atyrau.

The railway tariff for the transportation of oil along the Makhambet-Aktau route, excluding the cost of attracting a fleet and other expenses, is $57.28 per ton.

"Freight rates for oil supplies from Aktau to Azerbaijani ports are estimated at $15-$19 per ton, and the cost of transshipment through Azerbaijani terminals is $8," the agency said. "The tariff for pumping oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) for BTC shareholders is $28.05-$29.92 per ton ($3.75 - $4 per barrel)."

Besides, according to the agency, the cost of pumping for the companies which aren’t BTC shareholders is $26.18 - $37.4 per ton ($3.5 - $5 per barrel), depending on the quality of the supplied oil.

“So far, Kazakh suppliers don’t have ready-made contracts for the supply in this direction. They will have to negotiate both with the transshipment operators and with the pipeline consortium, as well as take into account the parameters of the quality bank operating in the BTC,” added the agency.
