BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The presence of a rail freight exchange would help regulate the cost of transportation depending on the season, free fleet, and specific route, Alexander Efendiyev, general director of the Russian Sim-Trans Group LLC, told Trend.
According to Efendiyev, in the close future, the transportation of grain and other goods is expected to be digitalized.
"Marketers and digitalization engineers of Russian RZD Logistics company are developing a project to create a digital exchange in "Uber format" for rail transportation. Our company's specialists are looking forward to the launch of such platforms," he said.
Besides, according to the CEO, the company understands that human participation in logistics processes reduces the likelihood of possible errors.
"In our company, a number of young professionals are already focused on working in digital systems and platforms," added Efendiyev.
