BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Russia will continue negotiations with Azerbaijan to obtain permits in the fields of railcar- and shipbuilding, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said, Trend reports.
Overchuk made the remark at a plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the two countries on April 26 in Baku.
According to him, Joint production of cars and trucks has already been established in Azerbaijan.
"Negotiations for obtaining permits, licenses and other necessary documents to expand activities in Azerbaijan, not only for the automotive but also for railcar- and shipbuilding industries, will continue in the future," he said.
Besides, according to the official, it’s planned to complete reconstruction at the Russian-Azerbaijani Kazmalyar-Samur border crossing by the end of 2022, expand the number of car lanes and increase the throughput.
"Within the transport cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, it’s also planned to boost the potential of the North-South transport corridor, redirect goods transported between the two countries to this corridor, as well as their transit," added Overchuk.
